Time is money. Companies tend to gravitate towards vendors and providers who can streamline processes and provide multiple services. When a single provider can offer multiple services, the time needed to coordinate those tasks is dramatically reduced. The GlobalTranz Supply Chain Management Department recognizes the value in providing logistics solutions throughout the supply chain, saving our clients both time and money. From raw materials to the end customer, the GlobalTranz Supply Chain Management Department will add value to every facet of the supply chain. To start, GlobalTranz offers inbound transportation of raw materials. Whether raw materials are being imported or manufactured domestically, GlobalTranz has a solution.Once the raw materials are purchased they are often shipped to a storage facility or directly to a company for packaging, assembly, kitting, or finishing. If the raw materials are purchased in bulk and require warehousing prior to distribution, GlobalTranz can provide long or short term storage at one of our 15 partner warehouse facilities. This option allows your client to capture discounts from their supplier by purchasing materials in bulk. In addition, if raw materials are stored domestically your client will have faster access to the goods, requiring less lead time for production.Further down the supply chain, GlobalTranz offers packaging, light assembly, or kitting services at many of our partner warehouse locations. For example, Watts Premier is a GlobalTranz client who manufactures reverse osmosis water purification systems. Many systems contain 3-5 different filter types. Each filter type is imported as a unique product, and they are packaged individually. Watts Premier procured GlobalTranz to take the individual filter types and repackage them into filter kits. This process involves combining 3-5 different filters and a product label into a single package. Watts Premier’s ability to outsource this process reduces their labor force and fixed costs, which adds value to their supply chain.$0$0In a simplified supply chain, after finished goods are produced, the products are typically stored and await shipment to the final customer. This process is supported by the Supply Chain Management Department’s warehousing and fulfillment services. Available fulfillment services include printing and applying labels, pick & pack order processing, least cost routing, vendor compliance strategies, and much more. Finally, the last piece of a simple supply chain is distribution to the consumer. The GlobalTranz Supply Chain Management Department utilizes the transportation strengths of our Truckload Department and CarrierRate.com to perform the final distribution. When clients utilize our supply chain services to manage their logistics needs, they spend less time on coordination and they maintain a single point of contact for all their needs. To learn more about the GlobalTranz supply chain service offerings, please contact Carson at cholmquist@globaltranz.com.
