For the month of February, GlobalTranz is proud to focus our Carrier Spotlight on the Wilson Trucking Corporation.
The Wilson Story
In the early 1920’s C.G. “Boss” Wilson utilized a model “T” pick-up truck to haul products from the Wilson farm in Lyndhurst, Virginia to the Richmond metro marketplace. Boss realized the need for a more timely, reliable and consistent cargo transportation service and provided such to neighboring farmers and businesses.
As Wilson Trucking grew, second generation son; C.W. “Buddy” returned from flying World War II aircraft over foreign airspace in the 1950’s and led the organization through the decades of the 1990’s.
The continual growth of the company was carried forward into the new millennium with 3rd generation sons C.L. “Chuck” Wilson, Chairman of the Board and C.E.O., and T.G. “Guy” Wilson, Vice Chairman of the Board, at the helm.
Now encompassing 10 states with a strategically located network of terminals, Wilson Trucking’s decades of integrity and trend-setting services continue to provide its customers with premier transportation service. The Wilson family tradition of success and dependability supplies a great foundation that provides excellence and stability for the future.
Currently, our focus is driving business up through not only our core LTL, but in Expedited services through the Emerald Expedited program, and the newly formed TL division, which operates out of central Virginia. Diversification produces additional services for our customers that create more value in today’s supply chain opportunities.
By focusing on our core values of integrity through transportation solutions in the Southeast, we understand that our customer’s reputation depends upon our ability to produce the commitment we bring to market. For over 88 years Wilson Trucking has demonstrated the dependability and commitment of excellence. Moving forward our goal is to continue to provide dependable service to our customers, so that our next 88 years will be even more successful. After all, it is a family tradition!
