EMPLOYEE Q & A

Tell us a little about your education.

Mayer High School class of 1990.  Go Wildcats!

Where were you working before finding GTZ?

I was out in the boondocks (literally) building barbed wire fences in remote areas of Arizona with no one to talk to (if you can imagine me not being able to socialize ‘blah’!)

What exactly do your job duties entail?

Maintain positive and productive relationships with customers.  Maintain strong relationships with multiple carriers and identify and contact qualified carriers and customers for freight services.  Bring a positive and energetic excitement everyday.

What makes you successful at what you do?

My ability to make people comfortable with allowing me the responsibility to move and handle their freight.  Most customers and carriers like this ‘crazy’ guy!

What do you like most about working for GTZ?

They allow me to be myself and put no ceiling on my success.  They do not curtail the wild and positive personality that comes from this ‘small town, big dreamer’ that just wants to make every day count.

What are some of your past accomplishments while working here?

Being part of the growth in the PSV office along with our leader Mark Erickson and our management team, it has been a very exciting 5 years.  I can’t wait to see the next 5, 10, 15 years!

Do you have a most memorable moment at GTZ?

When Dana Christofferson and I started working here 5 years ago, I put a red apple on my desk and told him, ‘Let’s see who lasts longer here, you or the apple.’  Well, I’m happy to report that Dana just celebrated 5 years on the 20th of July… and the apple?  Never made it past 5 weeks.

What are your career goals?

I would like to continue with the growth of the PSV office and who knows, maybe 10 years from now I will open (a GlobalTranz) in Las Vegas, NV.

Where are you originally from?

I was born in Phoenix and raised in all the small towns surrounding Prescott, AZ.

What do you like to do in your spare time? (Hobbies, sports, etc.)

I play Texas Hold ‘Em, Poker and Love seeing my favorite rock bands live in concert.  I collect anything that has to do with KISS or the Dallas Cowboys.

What’s something about you that most people don’t know?

My dad was a truck driver.  I’ve never been married.  I’ve played the World Series of Poker the last few years.  I can’t swim, I don’t eat cheese burgers or drink soda, and I’m in a music video.  I’m a grandfather 4 times over.

Anything else you feel like telling the GlobalTranz world?

I would like to thank Andrew Leto for dreaming up this wonderful company in his apartment some 12 years ago.  Thank you.  On a personal note, I want to thank Mark Erickson for taking a chance on a real knucklehead.  Because of that, I have gotten to do and live out things that I only dreamed of… thank you.  I owe it to him, myself and GlobalTranz to give 110% everyday.

Last but not least, to all of my customers, our carriers and the GlobalTranz (corporate) departments that help make everyday’s success possible… Thank you for making this such an easy and enjoyable journey.
