Jim joined GlobalTranz following the company’s acquisition of Global Freight Source in January 2017. Prior to joining GlobalTranz as a vice president, Jim was the founder and CEO of Global Freight Source. In his current role, Jim continues to run the Milwaukee office and now leads freight agent best practice initiatives for GlobalTranz.
Jim has 35+ years of progressive executive experience in the logistics industry. His industry longevity along with his depth and breadth of knowledge make him extremely well versed in all segments of the supply chain.
Jim began his logistics career as a top sales producer with ABF Freight and replicated his sales success, selling both LTL and air freight at Expedited Freight Systems and eventually becoming VP of Sales & Marketing responsible for managing multiple sales forces, while still maintaining the company’s highest production. Jim then founded Global Freight Source in July 1989 and successfully grew the company until its acquisition by GlobalTranz.
Jim has strong leadership and management skills and a demonstrated ability to build consensus and enthusiasm within his own management teams and with his clients. Jim’s leadership and sales skills led to a proven track record of driving increased revenues and improving profit margins – successes that he has replicated and sustained in each of his business ventures. He enjoys building companies that differentiate themselves through quality and innovation, which aligns perfectly with GlobalTranz’ vision of being a technology leader and innovator in freight management and third-party logistics.
VP Agent Acquisition
As Vice President of Agent Acquisition for GlobalTranz, Mike Sutter manages freight agent recruiting and the expansion of GlobalTranz’s freight agent network.
Prior to joining GlobalTranz, Mike was the director of freight agent recruiting for England Logistics. With 10+ years of experience in sales and business development for companies with an agent-centric business model, including Farm Bureau Financial Services, Mike is well-positioned to help GlobalTranz grow its freight agent channel.
SVP Carrier Relations
As Senior Vice President of Carrier Relations for GlobalTranz, Dave Bush is focused on strengthening relationships with GlobalTranz’ extensive network of truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers.
Prior to joining GlobalTranz, Dave was the vice president of business processes for Polaris Transportation Group, where he was responsible for carrier relationship management and strategic growth development of all U.S. infrastructure. Over his 20 year career in the transportation and third-party logistics industries, Dave has held positions in operations, carrier relations, customer service, sales and process management at Land Air Express and A. Duie Pyle.
VP DIRECT SALES
Leigh Ann Schneider joins the company as vice president of direct sales, overseeing direct sales to shippers. Leigh Ann is a 17-year veteran of the transportation industry, having held senior sales management positions at RR Donnelly, Forward Air and Towne Air Freight.
VP TL OPERATIONS
As Vice President of Truckload Operations, Ben oversees and manages the Direct Sales division in its entirety, responsible for managing the day-to-day sales and operations of the business.
Ben started his career as a Carrier Sales Representative, as a member of the Flatbed Operations Department. One year into his tenure, Ben was promoted to Manager of Training & Development, where he developed a new hire training program and implemented the Leadership Development Program. At the start of 2014, Ben transitioned to Senior Manager of Carrier Sales and was instrumental in launching a new team focused on the development of carrier partnerships and maximizing live network capacity. Ben moved into Director of Truckload Operations shortly thereafter and has now assumed full responsibilities for the Direct Sales division.
Prior to GlobalTranz, Ben was a high school teacher and basketball coach. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Arizona State University in 2008.
Jeff Simmons is the General Counsel of GlobalTranz. Jeff joined GlobalTranz after spending 30 years in private practice, most recently with the national law firm of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, LLP. He brings 26 years of experience in the transportation industry representing motor, rail, ocean and air carriers as well as brokers, before courts, regulatory agencies and in contract negotiations.
Jeff currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Transportation Lawyers Association and is a past Chairman of the Conference of Freight Counsel. He is also an active member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association.
Jeff has been named in the 2011 through 2016 editions of the Best Lawyers in America® in the field of Transportation Law and in the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Southwest Super Lawyers ® in the area of Transportation/Maritime Law. In 2014, he received the Transportation Lawyers Association’s Distinguished Service Award.
Jeff is a 1983 graduate of Georgetown University and a 1986 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law.
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Greg Carter brings more than 25 years of product development, technology leadership, and process management experience to GlobalTranz.
Prior to joining GlobalTranz, Greg was Chief Technology Officer and SVP of Product Development at Kewill, a global provider of enterprise logistics software to the world’s largest logistics and transportation companies including FedEx, Volvo, Crane, and DHL. Greg joined Kewill in 2014 to establish a new technology vision for the company and help communicate that vision to the market. At Kewill Greg led a global team of over 500 people and was responsible for product development, IT, and cloud operations. Greg moved Kewill’s strategic products to the Amazon cloud, beginning with Kewill’s flagship Customs and Transportation products.
Before joining Kewill, Greg was CTO of EDGAR-Online (a division of RR Donnelley), a leading global provider of XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) software, services, and data. At EDGAR-Online Greg set a new cloud-based technology strategy for the company’s flagship regulatory compliance product, ActiveDisclosure. Prior to EDGAR-Online Greg served as CTO and SVP of Product Development at Metastorm, a dominant software vendor in the Business Process Management market. During Greg’s tenure at Metastorm grew from US$6M in revenue to US$100M resulting in the successful sale of Metastorm to OpenText.
Previously, Metastorm acquired Software Systems Group, a company Greg co-founded in 1993. Software Systems Group provided process management solutions to international organizations including the International Monetary Fund, US Environmental Protection Agency, and Skadden Arps LLC. Prior to Software Systems Group Greg was one of the original developers of the document and records management product PC DOCS, now a division of Open Text.
Greg is also a technical advisor to Aquees, a provider of solutions to manage the use of water resources for residential and commercial properties that promotes smart water usage.
Chief Financial Officer
Renee is the Chief Financial Officer of Globaltranz. She is responsible for all financial reporting, treasury, accounting, tax, and HR. Renee brings over 15 years of executive leadership and 7+ years of transportation industry experience.
Most recently, Renee was CFO and EVP of Clear Channel Outdoor North America where she was responsible for all financial reporting, budgets, capital, acquisitions, forecasting, accounting, FP &A, and procurement.
Prior to Clear Channel Outdoor, she was Vice President of Finance & Corporate Procurement at Swift Transportation. Renee also held various senior finance leadership roles at Honeywell which included accounting, finance, information systems, operations and Six Sigma experience.
Renee earned an Executive MBA from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting from Indiana University. Renee also completed the Wharton CFO Leadership program in 2013.
Marty Sinicrope brings 30+ years of industry experience to GlobalTranz’s Executive Team.
Most recently, Mr. Sinicrope held the title of Senior Vice President of Station Sales with Echo Global Logistics, where he was responsible for creating and managing Echo’s agent and station divisions.
Prior to joining Echo Global, Mr Sinicrope held Senior Vice President of Sales for QW Express, the agent and station based third party logistics division of Quad Graphics/Quebecor World, the second largest printer in North America.
Mr. Sinicrope also held Director level positions with Harte-Hanks Logistics, Circle International and W.R. Grace throughout the years. Mr. Sinicrope attended Harvard University’s ALB program (continuing education, evening division).
Chairman & CEO
Bob has 30+ years of experience and a proven track record of building high-growth software and technology driven companies.
Prior to GlobalTranz, Bob served as president and CEO of Kewill. Kewill is a global leader in multimodal transportation management software, providing organizations with a comprehensive end-to-end platform for managing the complexities of transportation, logistics and trade compliance.
Prior to Kewill, Bob served as president and CEO of EDGAR Online, a leading global provider of XBRL software, services and data that was acquired by RR Donnelley & Sons (NASDAQ: RRD) in August of 2012. Prior to EDGAR Online, Bob served as Chairman and CEO of Metastorm, a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) enterprise software and solutions that was acquired by Open Text (NASDAQ: OTEX) in February of 2011. Farrell also served as President of Mercator Software, a provider of enterprise application integration solutions; COO at LeadingSide, a global provider of unstructured data solutions, and held executive management positions at Computer Horizons Corp., a provider of IT services and solutions.
Additionally, Bob is currently a Senior Advisor at Providence Equity focusing on investments in technology-enabled service companies. He is also an experienced non-executive outside Board member. He currently serves on the Board of Billtrust, the premier provider of Payment Cycle Management solutions, and Kitchen Brains a pioneer and global leader in the development and deployment of integrated, end-to-end, wireless M2M networking solutions and SaaS applications for the commercial kitchen/food service industry. Previously, he served on the Board of FolioDynamix, an award winning SaaS provider of investment management programs and wealth management platform solutions to financial services organizations that was acquired by Actua (NASDAQ: ACTA) in November of 2014 and on the Board of I.D. Systems (NASDAQ: IDSY), a leading global provider of wireless solutions.
CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER
Michael Bookout is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of GlobalTranz, responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with top National, Regional, and Local Carrier Partners. He has built his reputation and experience holding such positions as Executive VP of Pricing, and was one of the cornerstone builders of the GlobalTranz Inside Sales Divisions and Agent Networks.
Mr. Bookout started in the industry in 2000 with Motor Cargo Industries. He quickly climbed the sales ladder throughout his career with Motor Cargo, winning the “Salesperson of The Year” each year he was employed at Motor Cargo.
His distinction as a top performer awarded him the position of Corporate Account Manager where he captured National Accounts such as Newell Rubbermaid, CSK Auto, and Office Depot.
Additionally, Mr. Bookout serves on the Board for Reunion Community Church.
He is happily married with four children.
