Truck drivers keep America moving every day. We depend on the transportation industry, and more importantly, truck drivers to deliver everything from basic modern goods and commodities to life-sustaining medical supplies to our communities. With the massive storms impacting Texas, Louisiana, the Gulf Coast and now threatening Florida and the East Coast, truck drivers are going the extra mile to transport much-needed water, food and supplies for hurricane relief – drivers play an essential role to disaster recovery.
This week, September 10th – 16th, is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. We want to show our gratitude to our nation’s truck drivers for their hard work and commitment to tackling one of our economy’s most demanding and important jobs.
These facts about truck drivers and the trucking industry show how integral they are to our economy and everyday life. Did you know:
From all of us at GlobalTranz, we want to say, “thank you” to the 3.5 million men and women who deliver the food we eat, the medical supplies that keep us healthy, and the materials that build our homes and communities.
We’ll be out in force this week celebrating drivers at truck stops across the country, and we encourage everyone to show your appreciation and support for truck drivers and their families.
Watch for our driver appreciation billboards along highways in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New Jersey and Houston.
