If you’re think you’ve got these things covered, but are still struggling to grow your freight business, then you might be missing a couple important steps. The following infographic has 7 simple reminders to lead your business down a successful path.

7 Steps for Freight Agent Success (Infographic by GlobalTranz)
GlobalTranz Hosts United Blood Services Blood Drive

GlobalTranz, a technology-enabled logistics company specializing in freight management services including LTL, Full Truckload, Supply Chain Management, and Domestic Air/Expedited shipping, is excited to announce the hosting of a United Blood Services blood drive on August 16th from 8am to 4pm MST. www.BloodHero.com

Arizona has struggled to keep up with patient demand for blood since the beginning of the summer when supplies plummeted to 42% below required levels. While 500 blood donors are needed every day for Arizona hospital patients, an average of 364 donors have given blood daily since July 1, creating a shortfall of more than 1,600 blood donations.

Less than a one-day supply of O-Negative and O-Positive blood is on the shelves for Arizona hospitals. Since it takes 24 to 36 hours to test and process blood before it can be released to a hospital, patients are using Type O blood faster than United Blood Services can provide it.

In emergency situations—when there is no time to determine a patient’s blood type—doctors depend on Type O blood to sustain life until the patient can be stabilized.  An ample supply gives transfusion options when shortages of other blood types arise.

6% of the population has O-negative blood, but 100% of patients can receive O-negative transfusions. O-negative makes up 12% – 14% of all red blood cell transfusions in Arizona.

37% of the population has O-positive blood, but 85% of patients can receive O-positive transfusions.  O-positive makes up 42% of all red blood cell transfusions in Arizona.

It is predicted that this summer will have the worst nationwide blood shortage seen in many years, so out-of-state resources for blood components are extremely limited.

“An important part of our newly-launched corporate responsibility program is social outreach and we were looking to make an impact quickly,” says Chris Kyriakopoulos, Credit Manager at GlobalTranz.

“Arizona has very low blood supplies to keep up the with patient demand this summer and there is a high need right now. So, we partnered with United Blood Services to help. GlobalTranz employees filled 30 donation slots in 3 days. This is what our CSR program is all about—helping those in need and making an impact quickly.”

Due to the high amount of participation, the United Blood Services had GlobalTranz fill an additional 22 slots shortly after filling in the initial 30 with volunteers.

As part of the corporate responsibility program, GlobalTranz has also partnered with Recycle 1 to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and is the first step in a companywide effort to help reduce waste through recycling and energy conservation.

For more information on the blood drive, please visit www.BloodHero.com or contact GlobalTranz at 1-866-275-1407.

The Future of Logistics

– and where GlobalTranz fits in

“The logistics industry is going through a period of rapid and unprecedented growth —primarily fueled by increased demand and propelled by advances in technology. We’re finding faster, cheaper, and more reliable ways to ship anything, anywhere.”

Leading organizations today are increasingly dependent on multimodal transportation solutions that leverage technology to drive competitive and operative advantages. Organizations leverage technology or see their market share and ability to operate erode.  Some say that the logistics industry has been slow to adopt technology. That may or may not be an accurate blanket statement, but what is clear is that the leaders in the logistics world are shaping the future with technological innovation.

At GlobalTranz we are moving freight across multiple modes with disruptive technology. Our technology platform is helping redefine and drive growth in the logistics industry. We are uniquely positioned to help enterprise through small shippers use technology as a business differentiator.

What’s Changing in Logistics

From the rapid growth of e-commerce, the dawn of the Internet of Things (IoT), growing and emerging markets, and more —shippers face a number of challenges that weren’t even imaginable a decade ago. These are just a few:

Big Data

Big data is changing many industries, not just logistics. We’re now able to store, manipulate, and understand huge quantities of data —using it to our advantage.

The Internet of Things

Perhaps the most interesting change has been via the IoT, cloud-based and sensor technology, which will further allow for advances in tracing everything from the location to the temperature of a particular piece of freight.

Competition

The competitive climate in logistics has never been fiercer than it is today. With companies constantly trying to find the best and most efficient services, the bottom-line is always a top priority. Shippers who are able to offer the most competitive rates will win the business.

Where GlobalTranz Fits

No other logistics firm offers the advanced technology and integrated solutions that we offer at GlobalTranz. We have taken the power of technology and harnessed it in a concerted way to develop software designed specifically for our freight agent partners and internal resources to help grow and monetize their freight businesses, and to outpace the rest of the industry.

Here’s how GlobalTranz fits into this evolving and ever-changing landscape:

… by offering unified solutions

Our shipping partners have no need to buy multiple pieces of software to manage customers, search for leads, and manage shipments. With GlobalTranz, there is no patchwork of systems. Everything is contained in our three top-tier applications: CarrierRate2.0, CommandCenter, and ShipperCenter. Whether the partner specializes in LTL, full truckload, expedited services, or supply chain —everything they need to run their freight business is available via our system.

… by offering home-grown ideas

At GlobalTranz, we don’t outsource development of our programs. Our team of logistics experts plays a vital role in the creation and testing of our programs to ensure they lead the industry.

… by offering a full set of products

When shippers partner with GlobalTranz there is a seamless continuity between our diverse family of products. Trying to sync a program from one provider with a program from another is an exercise in futility. With GlobalTranz, our full set of products allows shippers to focus on their business rather than spending valuable time trying to learn —or find— systems that will work for them.

… by offering comprehensive support

Even when shippers find a CRM or TMS program that meets their needs, they still (generally) need to invest in accounting software, sales materials, and more. Not with GlobalTranz. From our transportation management systems to our CRM tool, we have solutions for every aspect of their freight business in-house —including the support of our sales team, payroll and billing specialists. We manage administrative tasks so our partners can focus on what they do best.

Leading the Industry in Technology Advancements

GlobalTranz has been focused on making shipment management easier for freight agents and brokers for nearly a decade and a half. As technology has improved, so have our products and services —offering our partners the best-in-class tools to run their businesses and succeed in the industry.

But, technology alone does not guarantee success. It’s how that technology is harnessed that makes the true difference. I’m excited to continue our mission to help our partner agents and internal resources become some of the top 3PLs in the country.

What Makes Our Technology Better

“Highly visionary companies liberate themselves with the “Genius of the AND” the ability to embrace both extremes of a number of dimensions at the same time” – Jim Collins from Built to Last”

A SMALL COMPANY WITHIN A LARGE COMPANY

Everyone knows that big companies can be slow. They can be slow to adapt, slow to respond and slow to innovate. There is a reason why big companies continue to buy small companies, and that is because those small companies have innovated, and pushed into a new niche that big companies just can’t explore. A new niche often becomes a market leader and industry game-changer. But being small is also dangerous; resources can limit you. People and financials can be scarce. Expanding any niche into the game-changing market often requires influence above and beyond what a small company can muster.

THE PROBLEM

Here’s the problem. How can you act small while being big? Here at GlobalTranz, we’ve found a solution. We’ve built internal teams that act with all the autonomy and passion of a small company, while maintaining the support and resources of a bigger company. Our product teams are simultaneously maintaining our exemplary suite of top-end products while also experimenting with new and exciting technologies, which will pave the future of freight.

GLOBALTRANZ “AND”

As Jim Collins says of Visionary companies, they’ve rejected the tyranny of the “OR” and embraced the brilliance of “AND”. Here at GlobalTranz, we take advantage of the agility of small teams AND we have the influence and resources of a large stable organization. Join our team and see the difference that can be made with GlobalTranz AND you.

PHOENIX, AZ (PRWEB) JULY 25, 2016

GlobalTranz, the nation’s 12th largest freight brokerage firm, announced today that it has been selected by Inbound Logistics Magazine as one of the 100 Top Third Party Logistics providers for 2016.

“We are so proud to be selected as a member of this elite class. Being named to Inbound Logistics’ prestigious list of top 100 3PL firms is an honor and an award we are thrilled to humbly accept. Each year we set our service goals even higher than the year before. We want to not only meet expectations that are set by ourselves and our community, but exceed them. Being named to this list says we’re definitely on the right track,” says Bob Farrell, CEO.

Since its origin in 1981, Inbound Logistics has long been regarded as the number one trade industry publication within the freight industry. Created for business logistics and supply chain managers, Inbound Logistics provides information to assist companies of all sizes to better manage their company’s overall industry resources. Each year, the magazine publishes a list of the top 100 industry leaders that best display high levels of excellence.

This year saw even more interest from companies submitting their credentials, seeking to be named to the distinguished list. Several hundred companies applied which presented a more difficult challenge than usual for the editorial selection team to choose only 100 3PL leaders among them.

“When choosing the Top 100 3PL Providers, Inbound Logistics editors looked for providers demonstrating excellence in optimizing transportation and logistics operations, as well as transformative solutions that drive integration across internal and external business processes,” says Felicia Stratton, Editor, Inbound Logistics.

This is the second time in two consecutive years that GlobalTranz has been named to Inbound Logistics’ top 100 list. Since being selected in 2015, GlobalTranz has continued its trend of excellence, showing growth and innovation in practice.

Most recently, GlobalTranz announced a new going green initiative and partnership with leading recycle company, Recycle 1 in Phoenix, AZ. The program focuses on waste reduction, starting with employees and branching into larger programs.

Also, in June, 2016, GlobalTranz announced a partnership with Impact Diversity Solutions Corporation (IDSC) to make accessing a true diversity coverage strategy for companies that contract with the United States Government a reality. The partnership between the two entities will allow for the optimization of industry leading transportation management technology in navigating government contracts.

“With recognition comes an even higher degree of expectation and responsibility for excellence. Creating value-added programs for our clients is top on our priority list. Each day we seek to improve their experience by providing additional resources, improved technology and top level service. Our community, which includes our customers, our partners and our employees, have always been and will always be our number one focus,” says Bob Farrell, CEO.

Part of the growth that GlobalTranz has seen this past year includes the celebration of new offices in Scottsdale, AZ complete with a state-of-the-art health facility. GlobalTranz also became a member of CargoNet as a way to best protect their customers’ freight. This is the latest in GlobalTranz’ ongoing efforts to improve the logistics experience of all of their partners.

The Inbound Logistics Top 100 list appears in the July 2016 print edition of the publication. The list will also be posted online on the Inbound Logistics website. Readers will be able to visit the website and enter their outsourced logistics requirements to match the solutions for providers that best suits to their needs.

Additionally, a digital edition of the publication, a special digital supplement, and an e-book will be available following the publication of the July print edition.

WHAT IS CLIENT SPECIFIC PRICING?

Client Specific Pricing (CSP) is designed for clients that do not fit the mold of general pricing. GlobalTranz will negotiate a dedicated tariff(s) specific to the client’s individual needs. Pricing is negotiated to sustain profitability for all parties including Customers, GlobalTranz Agents, and Carrier Partners simultaneously. GlobalTranz has staffed a team of analysts that assist Authorized GlobalTranz Freight Agents, providing the tools necessary to maintain and suit the needs of their specific customer accounts.

Although this process can secure market competitive pricing, CSP can offer more than just savings. GlobalTranz has been able to improve the customer’s carrier mix, lower claims, lower invoice adjustments, and facilitate accounts so they operate more efficiently.

ACCELERATED CLIENT SPECIFIC GROWTH:

LTL CSP has grown tremendously. Q1 YOY CSP revenue has grown over 35% and has accelerated that growth to 47% in Q2. This past June GlobalTranz CSP LTL revenue was over 5 million dollars. Currently GlobalTranz has nearly 150 clients who utilize CSP monthly. We have CSP accounts averaging over $100K just on dedicated LTL pricing. A dedicated commodity program has been established for household goods which several agents currently leverage accounting for over $130,000 of monthly revenue.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
WHAT ACCOUNTS QUALIFY?

Starting in fall there is historically an increase in clients sourcing LTL solutions for the coming year. If you have a prospect or an account that would be eligible for CSP please reach out to us this month. We look forward to collaborating and appreciate all the agent support to date to accomplish the ongoing rapid growth in the LTL Client Specific vertical.

GlobalTranz was named the third fastest growing company in Arizona in 2016, is now the nation’s 12th largest freight brokerage, and today the firm announces that the highly anticipated annual report from Global Trade Magazine listing “America’s Leading 3PLs” will name GlobalTranz as one of the leading 3PLs in America.

The highly anticipated report is the number one source for shippers around the globe who rely on partnerships with the best 3PLs to help move their goods. With the need for speed and efficiency driving the boom in the 3PL industry, finding the best of the best is why the report is so treasured by shippers, exporters, manufacturers, and distributors.

Logistics and technology have made more global commerce possible. However, moving freight over ocean, air, and land is enormously expensive. Prior to the rise in third party logistics firms, there were very few ways to streamline shipping costs.

Now with technological savvy and a broad network of carriers, 3PLs have made moving freight for small and large businesses much more efficient and cost effective. 3PLs that offer intermodal shipping can partner with logistics firms abroad that can carry the goods to their final destination once their American counterpart gets the load abroad.

To make Global Trade’s “America’s Leading 3PLs” list, logistics companies have to be among the most impressive in the world in terms of the value that they bring to the industry, their breadth of services, their reach, and a portfolio with a healthy client list in the thousands.

GlobalTranz has been chosen based on a number of factors including its client list of over 25,000 partners, agents, and vendors. Another factor is the company’s nationally acclaimed proprietary logistics software like their powerhouse CarrierRate2.0 TMS technology.

Many of the features of GlobalTranz TMS that impressed Global Trade Magazine so much help shippers, exporters, and importers do their jobs much more effectively. Interactive dashboards give GlobalTranz freight brokers the ability to proactively enlist the right carriers for each job and shippers get live real-time updates.

One area that logistics firms are revolutionizing for shippers and exporters is in distribution, offering additional services like warehousing. GlobalTranz is not only a freight forwarder and supply chain logistics firm. It also offers warehousing for streamlined operations for manufacturers and retailers.

Additionally, it did not escape the trade magazine’s attention that 2016 is the third year in a row that The Phoenix Business Journal ACE Awards has named GlobalTranz one of Arizona’s fastest growing companies. Their technological savvy and their position at the top of the freight logistics industry have solidified GlobalTranz position as a top freight broker.

This latest announcement follows a slew of positive press for the logistics firm. Earlier this year, GlobalTranz was named the “3PL of the Year” by Clear Lane Freight Systems. In April, Transport Topics unveiled their top brokers list and this year, GlobalTranz moved up two spots from 14th to the 12th largest freight brokerage in America.

GlobalTranz Green – Announcing Going Green, Partnering with Recycle 1 in Phoenix, AZ

Today GlobalTranz, the 12th largest freight brokerage in America, announces that it has partnered with Recycle 1 in Phoenix, AZ to become more eco-friendly.

As the nation’s 12th largest freight brokerage, GlobalTranz’ announcement today that it is partnering with Recycle 1 to reduce the company’s carbon footprint is the first step in a companywide effort to help reduce waste through recycling and energy conservation.

“Preparing and launching our go green initiative has brought excitement and enthusiasm to our culture.  We are not only making a positive impact on the environment by reducing our carbon footprint, but employees are bringing value to the business by being energy and waste conscience.” – Chris J. Kyriakopoulos, Credit Manager

Corporate Responsibility

Beginning with office policies that reduce waste, GlobalTranz employees are an integral part of this first phase of the company’s green revolution. Their bottom up approach began with Recycle 1 providing individual recycle bins for all GlobalTranz employees.

All Styrofoam cups have been removed from GlobalTranz offices. In their place, each individual employee received their own GlobalTranz coffee mugs and water cups to replace wasteful and polluting Styrofoam. Wooden stir sticks are now being used for coffee instead of plastic utensils.

On the company’s part, they also have a top down strategy that is aimed at helping to combat pollution and waste. First, the company converted a number of their most wasteful products to become eco-friendlier including switching to sustainable living paper towels, sponges and will be converting to plant based compostable utensils.

Recycle 1
Recycle 1 and GlobalTranz

Since 1982, Recycle 1 has been one of the leading recycling companies in the world. By targeting business waste, the company has been credited with helping produce the largest amount of reusable waste products to processing mills globally. Recycle 1 became an independent Arizona business back in 1997.

Over that time, they have become one of the most respected and reliable waste auditors for businesses. The team goes on site to perform a waste and recycling audit to pinpoint areas where an individual company is producing waste that could and should be recycled. Once the audit is complete, Recycle 1 develops a comprehensive recycling plan specifically designed for that business.

To the Future

For GlobalTranz, this is only the beginning. In addition to partnering with Recycle 1 to reduce paper and plastic waste, the company plans on instituting even more dramatic green policies. As a responsible Arizona business the company is determined to do their part to help protect the environment.

“Our GlobalTranz ‘Green Team’ has future plans to further evaluate our facility and our overall operations to look for more ways to reduce costs and lessen our carbon footprint.”

In logistics, the move to more sustainable energy and waste reduction is just beginning. From more fuel efficient fleets to the rise of LTL and FT carriers and brokers, protecting the planet is a global problem that takes a global solution. GlobalTranz understands their duty as one of the biggest logistics brokerages in the world to set an example by being a leader in this area.

Moreover, new methods of waste reduction are leading to streamlined operations and increasing profits for many. In that way, the green revolution is a win-win for both businesses and the planet. GlobalTranz hopes by instituting these policies now, they can help get the ball rolling for logistics firms.

Using state of the art technology, GlobalTranz is used to being a trendsetter in the logistics industry. This new mission to go green is just another example of GlobalTranz dedication to being a responsible global citizen. Today’s announcement is just the latest in GlobalTranz’ 13 year history of excellence.
