GlobalTranz Enterprises, Inc., a leading technology-driven freight management solution provider, announced today the expansion of its executive management team with the addition of new sales and technology leadership. The new appointments are in direct response to company growth and market demand for innovative freight management solutions.

To lead the growth in GlobalTranz’ direct sales business, Leigh Ann Schneider (pictured above) joins the company as vice president of direct sales, overseeing direct sales to shippers. Leigh Ann is a 17-year veteran of the transportation industry, having held senior sales management positions at RR Donnelly, Forward Air and Towne Air Freight.

Greg Carter GlobalTranz

To take GlobalTranz to the next level in technology innovation and build for growth in LTL, FTL, multi-stop and multi-modal transportation, Greg Carter joined the company in September as chief technology officer. With 25 years of experience in building and scaling enterprise technology products and services, Greg most recently served as CTO for Kewill, overseeing the growth of its multi-modal transportation platform and cloud-based logistics solutions.

“GlobalTranz is one of the fastest growing freight brokerage companies in the industry,” said Renee Krug, chief financial officer for GlobalTranz. “We are excited to have Leigh Ann on board to help us capitalize on the opportunity to further build our industry-unique, hybrid agent/direct 3PL brokerage model that facilitates scale and allows us to gain optimal rates from our carrier partners while positioning us for broad geographic and vertical market coverage. Greg will help us ensure that the product platform keeps pace with changing market demands, provides innovative capabilities to empower the growth of our freight agents’ businesses and delivers the scalability needed to support a high level of customer service as we grow.”

The addition of two industry veterans demonstrates GlobalTranz’ commitment to accelerating growth and market leadership under the direction of CEO Bob Farrell, who joined the company earlier this year.

“GlobalTranz is committed to leading the transportation and logistics market in technology innovation and world-class freight management services through both direct sales and our vast world-class freight agent network,” said Bob Farrell, CEO of GlobalTranz. “We are excited to have Greg and Leigh Ann on board to help us realize this vision. Their combined industry expertise and proven track records of success will be valuable assets to GlobalTranz as we extend our solution offerings and grow our market leadership.”

Today we announced that we have submitted and received approval for our 2016 data update with the SmartWay® Transport Partnership —an innovative collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight/transportation industry. The SmartWay Transport Partnership provides a framework to assess the environmental and energy efficiency of goods movement supply chains.

With this partnership, we will continue to contribute to the Partnership’s savings of 170.3 million barrels of oil, $24.9 billion in fuel costs, 72.8 MMT of carbon dioxide (CO2), 1,458,000 tons of nitrogen oxides, and 59,000 tons of particulate matter.

This is the equivalent to eliminating annual energy use in over 6 million homes. Carbon dioxide is the most common greenhouse gas, and nitrogen oxide is an air pollutant that contributes to smog. By joining SmartWay Transport Partnership, we are able to demonstrate our strong environmental leadership and corporate responsibility.

“We are pleased once again to be part of the SmartWay Transport Partnership”, said Bob Farrell, CEO of GlobalTranz. “The SmartWay Transport Partnership is doing great work to help companies advance supply chain sustainability by measuring, benchmarking, and freight transportation efficiency. It is imperative for all in our industry to be involved”, added Farrell.

Developed jointly in early 2003 by EPA and Charter Partners represented by industry stakeholders, environmental groups, American Trucking Associations, and Business for Social Responsibility, this innovative program celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2014.

Partners rely upon SmartWay tools and approaches to track and reduce emissions and fuel use from goods movement. The Partnership currently has over 3,000 Partners including shipper, logistics companies, truck, rail, barge, and multimodal carriers.

We recently announced our Q2 2016 operating performance report that significantly exceeded that of our public company peers.

Our Q2 2016 total shipment volumes grew 14% over the same period in 2015. Our performance was highlighted by an impressive increase in truckload shipments of 26% year over year. Revenue growth was also impressive —outpacing public company peers by 10% on the low-end and over 20% against poorer performing public peers. Our enterprise segment was particularly successful increasing over 90% versus the prior year.

During the quarter, we added 102 new agents its market-leading network of Freight Agents.  Our existing Freight Agents (those with the company for 12 months or more) increased gross revenue by 14% and net revenue by 20%.  Our agent network continues to represent full coverage across the United States by individual leaders in the freight industry.

With these encouraging operating results, we have taken advantage of the current low interest rate environment and has secured new financing in the form of an asset-backed loan. This financing will continue to support our future organic and strategic growth opportunities.

“The Q2 2016 numbers are inspiring in a number of ways,” says Renee Krug, CFO at GlobalTranz. “From encouraging future growth to solidifying our marketing and sales strategies, this builds on our great foundation as we finish 2016 and move into 2017.”

Earlier this year, we moved our corporate headquarters from Phoenix to our new Scottsdale campus and celebrated the milestone with an exciting grand opening party. Hundreds of team members and their families, customers, business partners, carrier partners, and our agents were in attendance.  The new campus provides us with state-of-art facilities to further our technology leadership and scale its business.

This celebration also debuted our new Care ATC health clinic, which offers full-service primary care, on site lab work, on site generic prescriptions, tests, physicals, personal health assessments, and tobacco cessation. Our team members can seek treatment for allergies, colds, flu, diabetes management, high blood pressure, asthma, congestion, headaches, high cholesterol, and others.

Since 2012, we have also been incubating 10-4 Systems as a subsidiary while 10-4 pioneered technology to provide end-to-end shipment visibility, automated shipment and delivery updates, carrier driver, asset management and solutions to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the diesel-heavy transportation industry. During Q2 we announced the spin-off of 10-4 Systems, Inc. as an independent entity. The spin-off allows us to continue focusing on driving growth and value as a disruptive force in the freight movement space through market-leading technology and a hybrid agent/direct go-to market strategy.

“We are extremely pleased by the progress we accomplished during Q2,” stated Bob Farrell, CEO of GlobalTranz. “Both our Agent network and direct sales channels performed well, we continued to drive technology innovations, and we strived to continue making GlobalTranz an excellent place for our employees to work.  We are well positioned for the remainder of 2016 and beyond,” added Farrell.

Other second-quarter achievements and milestones included:

One of the things we look forward to at GlobalTranz is our Internship Program—when Junior and Senior university students are welcomed into the GlobalTranz family to expand their business knowledge and gain a greater understanding of the Supply Chain and Logistics industries. It’s a win-win for all involved, as our interns also bring great energy and new ideas to the table.

We believe the community also benefits by the strong foundation that is built between our company and the metro Phoenix area, as well as the partnerships that are created with local university Business and Supply Chain colleges.

During the duration of the internship, our interns deal with multiple departments as well as learn the industry and daily business expectations in this fast-paced environment. These are just a few of the roles and responsibilities that this class of interns took on:

The GlobalTranz Intern Process Improvement Project

As part of our internship program, we also challenge the team to find a process within GlobalTranz that interests them and then detail a plan to fix or improve that process. They shadow multiple departments, come up with a proposal, follow through with the project, and give a presentation on their findings and share how they believe it should be implemented. These process improvement projects allow our interns to use lean process improvement methods as well as Six Sigma principles in a real world application.

Zach Albregts, a recent intern, had this to say about the program:

“As a whole, the summer internship at GlobalTranz provided many valuable experiences that I can now take with me as I depart. Having the opportunity to work on our own projects, in an area where we see fit was the highlight of the internship this summer. That opportunity not only allowed me to work and communicate with professionals, but it allowed me to think critically on a process improvement for GlobalTranz.”

Everyone within the GlobalTranz organization looks forward to hosting our interns and always anticipates the culmination of the season when the interns make their proposals for the process improvement project.
Brandon Copeland, Senior Manager of Training & Development at GlobalTranz, says the process improvement project is a great way for the interns to put everything they’ve learned together with their business knowledge and schooling to bring the internship full circle.

Want a GlobalTranz Internship?

Whether you’re interested in the logistics industry or want to expand your business acumen, we’re always looking for highly energetic, forward thinking university students who have the ability to learn quickly and can retain and memorize processes and product knowledge.

Here are some of the skills/requirements that we’re looking for:

GlobalTranz Hosts United Blood Services Blood Drive

GlobalTranz, a technology-enabled logistics company specializing in freight management services including LTL, Full Truckload, Supply Chain Management, and Domestic Air/Expedited shipping, is excited to announce the hosting of a United Blood Services blood drive on August 16th from 8am to 4pm MST. www.BloodHero.com

Arizona has struggled to keep up with patient demand for blood since the beginning of the summer when supplies plummeted to 42% below required levels. While 500 blood donors are needed every day for Arizona hospital patients, an average of 364 donors have given blood daily since July 1, creating a shortfall of more than 1,600 blood donations.

Less than a one-day supply of O-Negative and O-Positive blood is on the shelves for Arizona hospitals. Since it takes 24 to 36 hours to test and process blood before it can be released to a hospital, patients are using Type O blood faster than United Blood Services can provide it.

In emergency situations—when there is no time to determine a patient’s blood type—doctors depend on Type O blood to sustain life until the patient can be stabilized.  An ample supply gives transfusion options when shortages of other blood types arise.

6% of the population has O-negative blood, but 100% of patients can receive O-negative transfusions. O-negative makes up 12% – 14% of all red blood cell transfusions in Arizona.

37% of the population has O-positive blood, but 85% of patients can receive O-positive transfusions.  O-positive makes up 42% of all red blood cell transfusions in Arizona.

It is predicted that this summer will have the worst nationwide blood shortage seen in many years, so out-of-state resources for blood components are extremely limited.

“An important part of our newly-launched corporate responsibility program is social outreach and we were looking to make an impact quickly,” says Chris Kyriakopoulos, Credit Manager at GlobalTranz.

“Arizona has very low blood supplies to keep up the with patient demand this summer and there is a high need right now. So, we partnered with United Blood Services to help. GlobalTranz employees filled 30 donation slots in 3 days. This is what our CSR program is all about—helping those in need and making an impact quickly.”

Due to the high amount of participation, the United Blood Services had GlobalTranz fill an additional 22 slots shortly after filling in the initial 30 with volunteers.

As part of the corporate responsibility program, GlobalTranz has also partnered with Recycle 1 to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and is the first step in a companywide effort to help reduce waste through recycling and energy conservation.

For more information on the blood drive, please visit www.BloodHero.com or contact GlobalTranz at 1-866-275-1407.

PHOENIX, AZ (PRWEB) JULY 25, 2016

GlobalTranz, the nation’s 12th largest freight brokerage firm, announced today that it has been selected by Inbound Logistics Magazine as one of the 100 Top Third Party Logistics providers for 2016.

“We are so proud to be selected as a member of this elite class. Being named to Inbound Logistics’ prestigious list of top 100 3PL firms is an honor and an award we are thrilled to humbly accept. Each year we set our service goals even higher than the year before. We want to not only meet expectations that are set by ourselves and our community, but exceed them. Being named to this list says we’re definitely on the right track,” says Bob Farrell, CEO.

Since its origin in 1981, Inbound Logistics has long been regarded as the number one trade industry publication within the freight industry. Created for business logistics and supply chain managers, Inbound Logistics provides information to assist companies of all sizes to better manage their company’s overall industry resources. Each year, the magazine publishes a list of the top 100 industry leaders that best display high levels of excellence.

This year saw even more interest from companies submitting their credentials, seeking to be named to the distinguished list. Several hundred companies applied which presented a more difficult challenge than usual for the editorial selection team to choose only 100 3PL leaders among them.

“When choosing the Top 100 3PL Providers, Inbound Logistics editors looked for providers demonstrating excellence in optimizing transportation and logistics operations, as well as transformative solutions that drive integration across internal and external business processes,” says Felicia Stratton, Editor, Inbound Logistics.

This is the second time in two consecutive years that GlobalTranz has been named to Inbound Logistics’ top 100 list. Since being selected in 2015, GlobalTranz has continued its trend of excellence, showing growth and innovation in practice.

Most recently, GlobalTranz announced a new going green initiative and partnership with leading recycle company, Recycle 1 in Phoenix, AZ. The program focuses on waste reduction, starting with employees and branching into larger programs.

Also, in June, 2016, GlobalTranz announced a partnership with Impact Diversity Solutions Corporation (IDSC) to make accessing a true diversity coverage strategy for companies that contract with the United States Government a reality. The partnership between the two entities will allow for the optimization of industry leading transportation management technology in navigating government contracts.

“With recognition comes an even higher degree of expectation and responsibility for excellence. Creating value-added programs for our clients is top on our priority list. Each day we seek to improve their experience by providing additional resources, improved technology and top level service. Our community, which includes our customers, our partners and our employees, have always been and will always be our number one focus,” says Bob Farrell, CEO.

Part of the growth that GlobalTranz has seen this past year includes the celebration of new offices in Scottsdale, AZ complete with a state-of-the-art health facility. GlobalTranz also became a member of CargoNet as a way to best protect their customers’ freight. This is the latest in GlobalTranz’ ongoing efforts to improve the logistics experience of all of their partners.

The Inbound Logistics Top 100 list appears in the July 2016 print edition of the publication. The list will also be posted online on the Inbound Logistics website. Readers will be able to visit the website and enter their outsourced logistics requirements to match the solutions for providers that best suits to their needs.

Additionally, a digital edition of the publication, a special digital supplement, and an e-book will be available following the publication of the July print edition.
