PHOENIX, ARIZONA – September 28, 2017 – GlobalTranz Enterprises, Inc., a leading technology-driven freight management solution provider, today announced that it has been named by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a SmartWay Transport Partner for the ninth consecutive year.

The SmartWay Transport Partnership program was created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to support companies’ initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from freight transportation activities. It is a voluntary program where businesses commit to executing environmentally conscious business practices and submitting performance data each year to be reviewed by the EPA in order to qualify as a SmartWay partner.

“GlobalTranz is committed to creating positive change with environmentally conscious business practices,” said Bob Farrell, CEO. “We are proud to work with the EPA to help reduce the carbon footprint of the freight transport industry and to provide shippers with sustainable freight management solutions.”

As a SmartWay Transport Partner, GlobalTranz is helping to contribute to the partnership’s savings of 196.5 million barrels of oil, $27.8 billion in fuel costs, and reduced emissions of harmful air pollutants by 94 million tons. This is equivalent to eliminating annual energy use in over 6 million homes.

In addition to being a SmartWay Transport Partner, GlobalTranz furthers their commitment to environmental sustainability through the company’s CORE (Community Outreach Resource Efficiency) corporate responsibility initiative. CORE is an employee-run program that works with surrounding communities and local businesses to lessen the carbon footprint on the environment.
